Private security officers in Philadelphia are joining together in a civil rights campaign for fair wages, benefits and dignity on the job.

Guards are signing up with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 32BJ and anticipate upcoming employer contract negotiations.

Why Students Should be Involved in Training their School Security Officers

In April 2009, myself and seven other students at Sayre High School trained our school security officers.  The reason why we did this all stemmed from a situation that took place back in September 2008 at my school.  The media called it a riot, but it all started with a miscommunication that escalated way beyond what it needed to be.

On Wednesday August 26th Jobs with Justice will screen a video they made jointly with the Media Mobilizing Project entitled Welcoming Change: A Message to Timothy Rub.  The screening will take place at 4205 Chestnut Street at 6:30 PM.
