About PECO’s Rate Hike Request
• On March 31,
2010, PECO filed a request for an electric rate increase of $316
million per year in base rates.
• According to PECO, the
total monthly bill for a residential customer would increase by 10.1%,
if their entire request is approved. BUT, that does not include all the
rate hikes that customers will face …
• This hike in base
rates does not include the higher “market based” electric generation
rates when the rate caps come off in January, 2011.
• In 2009,
there were almost 77,000 utility shut offs by PECO. Shut offs will
only go up with higher rates.
The rate increase is not a done
deal. PECO must get the approval of the Public Utility Commission
(PUC). Your opinion matters!
• Have you called PECO
for an agreement to catch up on bills and got no support?
•
Did you know PECO has programs to help you reduce your bill?
•
Are you on PECO’s CAP Rate program but still cannot afford your bills?
We
need your help in telling the PUC that PECO must do more for its
customers. Come to these hearings.
