Rally to Freeze Foreclosures

• Massive fraud has been uncovered with mortgage foreclosures and some major mortgage companies have halted foreclosures temporarily as a result.

• Mortgage companies have refused to offer affordable workouts for people behind on their mortgages, despite a large scale government program that pays them to do so (the HAMP program).

• As of October 1, 2010 a new federal program is bringing over $100 million to Pennsylvania to help people with mortgage payments. No guidelines have been created yet and until people have a chance to apply, no one should lose their home.

• We call for a freeze on all foreclosures until mortgage companies stop fraud, offer affordable work outs for delinquent mortgages and new federal funds are made available to eligible homeowners.
