Tell Harrisburg: FUND OUR SCHOOLS! Statewide March for Public Education

Date:
April 26, 2011 - 7:00am - 5:00pm

On Tuesday, April 26, thousands of students, parents, teachers and workers are converging on Harrisburg to send a clear message to Gov. Corbett: EDUCATION IS OUR PRIORITY! FUND OUR SCHOOLS NOW!

Gov. Corbett's proposed budget includes major cuts to education funding. The total statewide level of cuts for PreK-12 education is $1.18 billion. This is a 15% total cut. Meanwhile, the budget increases prison spending by 11% and allocates $650 Million to build 3 new state prisons.

Join us and make your voice heard about what Pennsylvania's priorities should be. This statewide mobilization is organized by the PA NAACP & supported by dozens of organizations from across PA.

Our bus will leave on April 26th at 7am. We will travel to Harrisburg, and return to the Philadelphia Student Union office at 5pm.
