Announcing our new sister organization!

We are thrilled to share with you a project that Media Mobilizing has been incubating for the last two years. Bonfire Media Collective is a worker-owned media services business that tells stories for social change. An idea from the earliest days of MMP, Bonfire is now launching as an independent, worker-owned, business that will operate as a sister organization to Media Mobilizing Project.

As Bonfire launches, its worker-owners are calling on their community to help cover their first year startup costs. Make a donation to help Bonfire cover those critical first year costs.

This time of unconscionable callousness and cruelty on the part of those in power, is a reminder of how powerful the stories we tell each other can be. Bonfire aims to be a light that lift up the stories of communities fighting for the world we all deserve.

Bonfire is also a next step in the growth of MMP’s movement media infrastructure. We’ve built the skills of dozens of media makers who participate in our semester-long Movement Media Fellows program, and who volunteer with us to produce rapid-response media and documentary projects highlighting local campaigns.

We are also approached often with requests to produce media, consult on communications strategy, or conduct trainings from our many organizational partners. Bonfire Media is an amazing chance to respond to the needs of our community, while at the same time creating sustainable jobs for our most committed volunteers.

You can learn more about the members of Bonfire Media Collective, and see examples of their past work on their website.

Please, donate to Bonfire Media Collective so this necessary project of storytelling and transformation is able to grow.
