MMP is looking for an intern excited about building the power of School Communities in Philadelphia. The Philly SUN Project believes the only way to build strong schools is to have School and Community leaders self-determining the future of them. Because we believe movements begin with the telling of untold stories, our first touch is done through Story collecting. We ask school communities: What is your vision for your school and your neighborhood? And then share their responses on our story site. The site aims to share stories of success, bring to light obstacles, and be a space of networking and sharing. These conversations are also the foundation for our larger campaign work.
At this time, our work is predominately in West Philly and Southwest Philly so some familiarity with those areas is desired, but not required.
This is an unpaid position with flexible hours, however interns can receive academic credit or work-study payment as appropriate. Schedule and start dates are flexible; interns must commit a minimum of 8 hours per week.
