Screening: Education Stories from the Roots

revival_opening_2Join us Thursday, October 2nd from 6-8pm to watch the stories we’ve been collecting of families’ struggles and triumphs in the face of major educational budget cuts across Philadelphia.
Our team of Media Mobilizing Project Story Collectors has been going to parks, schools, and events to talk with parents, students, teachers, and community members about the education crisis.

On Thursday, October 2nd from 6-8pm, we will be screening some of these stories and coupling them with videos from our Revival from the Roots project at MMP’s Office. This will be a chance to get great parent leaders into a room together to learn from each other about the amazing work we’re doing to build the resiliency and resourcefulness of our neighborhood schools.
Revival from the Roots is a 4-part documentary series that tells the untold story of local communities striving to transform our neighborhoods public schools in the wake of devastating school closures and continued underfunding to our public education system in Philadelphia. We produced Revival from the Roots last Spring to show the powerful local leadrship at work everyday in our schools.
